Why does a soul incarnate?

For some reason I have attempted to share something here multiple times and uncharacteristically have deleted most of what was written. Typically when I sit down to write I just do and go with what is coming through.

But something is distilling in me. A deeper intention to combine two frequencies within; one that shares spiritual information, giving clarity and insight in to the workings or our shared reality and the other something that hopefully evokes the beauty and meaning behind living at all.

Upon reflecting with a friend, I noticed that so much of the current spiritual content, however useful and helpful sometimes seem to lack the poetic reflection that may actually move us to feel more inspired. I can not promise I will do this either, but I will reach towards the idea, in hopes that my words not merely inform but perhaps transform you. At least from time to time.

In the attempt at teaching a mastery over the energy of our lives it feels modern spiritual teachings have lost the awe. We have lost the mystery and we are losing the majestic quality of the universe. Admittedly this is hard to transfer. I myself get lost in the manifestation of useful things. There are seasons where safe structures must be built, and it is joyful to manifest a life of our desires. In fact that is always satisfying. But I am trying to open to more meaning and more depth of beauty in life so I hope to do that here.

Because one thing I have learned in my work is that every word, sound and color has a life of its own. Each piece of content given to me in a reading could be focused upon and has the potential to unfurl it’s depth, and in the nuance and connection you can have with it. Words, ideas, images, are all like this all the time, not just in intuitive readings. There is a vast wave of energy behind everything you experience in life. In our regular sensory awareness, we are experiencing the point of stillness that creates a form. For the human mind that wave of energy behind the form feels more like emotion, and subtle body sensation than something you would describe as merely sensory.

But in the sensory, that same potential awaits. Every smell has the potential to open an experience beyond just your memory. The smell contains information, about the item it is attached to but also perhaps the unlocking of your own awareness. A color you see is not just a visual but contains an experience within you. This is how color therapy, or sound healing work. The power of healing touch and even the mere taste of something can transform us. The spiritual and the physical our not separate. The sensory and the subtle are not opposites, they are points of focus.

In the way our current world has encouraged or even programmed us to function, this understanding of the numinous underpinning of all that there is, has been ignored. Technology use is absolutely helping to keep it there. I have noticed my own ability to feel awe outside of intuitive work diminished. Because the openness to receive this type of connection to the world requires a more spacious mind. It requires receptivity. We must let our hearts, minds and bodies be at ease and in expectation to access this state.

There is so much more going on in the vastness of the universe that I don’t recommend you try to be open to it at all times. We would be lost in the awe if we did, and we are here in this life, also, to narrow our focus, to have a simple, clear and grounded mind. But at times we must open the door to beauty and aliveness or no matter what we create in life, satisfaction will evade us.

We can write as many gratitude lists as we want in attempt to create the most wonderful life but if you never stop and actually feel a deep sense of wonder at the miracle of your child’s breath moving in and out of them as they sleep on your chest, you will search endlessly in longing for something you can not name. If you dont take a moment to let the sunlight warm your skin and feel elated, when you leave this life will you feel satisfied?

May we not trade mastery of manifestations for the magic of existence, moments of mysterious connection, the complete poetry of living in time, space and body.

When I began writing this, I was going to write about what death has to teach us about living somehow that is nowhere to be found. But what I want to leave you with is what being alive might mean to an eternal spirit. Because we look to the spirit world, the cosmic beings, for guidance on living but they connect to us for the magic of experiencing life.

A soul wants to know, what it is to feel another person outside of you and yet somehow so close to you ,to go from not touching to touching so you understand the way they feel on your fingertips. Spirits want to hear a heart beat in another as you lie on their chest in deep rest. They want to write songs on their guitar about their first love and taste your grandmothers pie. They want to feel the triumph of beating the odds you thought were stacked against you. A soul wants to know what it is to stand in solitude surrounded by nature and feel not alone at all. Spirits want to feel clay in there hands as the wheel spins it in to a bowl. They want to be artists, lovers, poets, and magicians of life.

There is so much here in this life that our soul yearns for. But somehow we have been duped in to creating lives that don’t seem to light ignite the flame that is meant to illuminate our souls path here. I know our soul knew this coming in and I imagine that it came to accept the challenge and attempt to remember to find another way. Our souls came not only to recall what it feels like in the cosmos, but what it feels like to be profoundly and vibrantly human.

The marrying of these two things is where beauty is created.

So may you find the dance between honing the energetic patterns to create a meaningful life and surrendering to the complete magic of your own existence.

In the dance,

Avery
